CASE STUDY / CEM AMBIENTE – CAVENAGO DI BRIANZA LANDFILL SITE

Biogas

Wastewater treatment plants and landfills that require the exploitation of methane-poor biogas achieve the highest level of efficiency thanks to our expertise.

TRIGENERATION WITH METHANE-POOR BIOGAS

Trigeneration plant for former landfill, converted into a park, in the province of Milan

We hold the record for the construction of the 1st cogeneration plant with turbines applied to a landfill in Italy. Capstone technology allows us to make the most of the fuel, as it can also operate with the low concentrations of methane present in the biogas of a landfill at the end of its life cycle.

Five Capstone CR65 landfill gas turbines have been designed for this site and the plant is fed by biogas of biological origin (MSW Landfill) with IAFR qualification.

With the thermal energy available at the discharge of the 5 turbines installed, moreover, through a thermal recovery system, hot water is produced for office heating and cold water for air conditioning with the use of a Century absorber.
