Capstone CR65 65 kWe

COGENERATION FROM BIOGAS

Cogeneration plant for the combined production of electrical and thermal energy

The Province of Como – Ecology and Environment Sector, which has always stood out for the attention it has paid to safeguarding the environment, issued Order No. 13984 of 23 March 2009 authorising the construction and use of a plant to produce electricity by collecting the residual biogas from the Como Water Purification Plant. We supplied and installed a 65 kWe Capstone CR65 microturbine, powered by the biogas for the combined production of electrical and thermal energy and the related nine-year full service maintenance.

In 2018, the company Como Acque incorporated by merger Sud Seveso Servizi and proceeded to revamp the first Capstone CR65 turbine operating since 2009, and to install two new Capstone CR65 turbines to complete the plant, obtaining the power output as electric energy produced of 195 kWe, and thermal energy of 375 kWt.
